timed quest?

So a new event just started and I want to play, however, I have a timed quest in my current episode that needs to be completed in 24 hours. does anyone know if the timer in my current episode freezes when i enter the outbreak episode? or should i complete that quest before starting the outbreak (which also means i'll miss an entire day of the event)?
