I already assumed that the failure rate is pretty high. But how about combining greens to blue? I am still stuck with greens at the moment. The Heroes Tower seems to be more worth of my time.
Don't even bother trying to get purple runes unless you have the gems to combine them. Otherwise, it's a 99.99% failure rate. Glu made the game worse.
The failure rate on combining greys is half and that is low according to the devs. 30k, 15 runes and hours lost to collect them was my game experience today. It's now a Facebook game; log in and use up your tickets and log off. The mobs that drop gear for leveling don't drop anything anymore and that is if you can even beat them.
These freemium games always seem to go this route eventually. Add Glu to the ranks of Bigpoint, etc
Someone commented in the townchat that he got drills as a wave completition reward for beating wave 80 in the tower of heroes. If that's true then this is the way for my weaker charackters to get drills. My Warrior is fully runed but I have some problems with the mage and monk.
According to some forum members the failure rate of combining green runes to blue is rather high.
Different experiences from members - number of successes: 0/8; 0/6; 1/3; 1/5; 1/4
The intersection would be: (/) 11.53...% succes rate.
Of course this number cannot be seen as useful info. But if I have a 30% chance of success then i would combine with coins since green runes are rather useless.
"Farming" gems is just enough for me to buy soulshards
I think Glu stole the thunder out of this game with this entire update! I am disgusted! I have seen ten runes so far, and they all suck! Why would you kill all the existing players, high level players, and render us newbies? It is almost like we played for nothing!
Gold runes are 250k gold very high chance of failure or 250 gems for combine. Takes 4 purple runes.
250 gems is crazy... Could someone work out how many gems you would need to upgrade every item with gold runes? Starting with only grey runes. Also I wonder how much you would have to spend on offerings... it all adds up as people have said to them pushing us to spend money. I have already spent enough I think and the rewards just vanish over time...
Thanks Xephraim, I wasn't sure of the upgrade cost of each stage. 3,360 gems is a lot, even though that is upgrading all your gems to gold.... Also that is assuming you have tons of gems already, it would probably be double that at least if you were to buy gems.
The other big thing is, whenever you upgrade a piece of gear guess what, there goes one drill plus countless runes...

Does anyone know the Stats of Blue Runes and higher?
Blue dmg 5.8% resist 5.3%
Purple dmg 10% resist 9%
I wonder how strong legendary runes are.

Wow four digits of precision 0.9999. Do you actually know this or is this your perception from several failed merges. If so how many merges?

two failed blue ones and six green ones. I just quit after that...
8/8 failure from green to blue :-((

Any other experiences?
But both lighning resistance. Failed 3 Fire resistance, 1 Ice attack, 1 Ice resistance, 1 lighning attack.
Legendary Resistance Rune - 15%
Added to 1st post. thx.
I just got my first blue rune today... from 10 offerings. I feel like I never had more luck in this game.
**that changes my 1/3 to 1/5
Success rate (/) 10.71%
So it isn't just me. Upgrading Runes is like finding godly gear. Either you have luck... or not.
30k coins
50 gems
Moderate chance of failure

Great post btw it should be stickied
Because I only succeded the ones that I don't need - ligthning resistance.
Added.
I really need to save up gems. Runes take all my inventory space
Sticky here would be good but take the sticky off some of the others. Filling the screen with old announcements doesn't help anyone.
100 k - high chance of failure or 100 gems
Also from what I'm seeing you need 4 purple to make a gold.
Added.
Good to know how much gems it costs.... and good to know how much you need to make a gold one....
How much does it cost to equip it? (or more important... to dispatch it)

Once fully filled in add up totals to make a gold rune and etc.

Getting gold runes on all gear:
Combination costs:
20+50+100+250=420
8 Pieces of equipment:
420x8=3360 gems
(If you want all three elements:
3360x3= 10080 gems)
I would combine greys with coins so it would be much cheaper for me.
3200 gems...
... I only get 60 gems in 20 days
