EW2: Multiplayer freezes on loading levels

OK, this is really annoying. When I play a multiplayer game, it shows the loading screen with the 'tip' but proceeds to freeze, not continuing to the start of the floor. When I try to close and reopen, it shows the floor screen, but with what I'm guessing is the Dance ability active, but my character, and the other character is invisible. I can't get to the main menu from there either, even though I'm pressing the buttons that should take me there. What's going on?!
