"One Hit Kills" in Eternity Warriors II by players with far lower power ratings.

I'm addicted to Eternity Warriors II and love the PVP matches. However, I've noticed a disappointing trend lately in PVP mode of, literally, being killed with one or two hits by players with a power rating several thousand lower than mine. I just had it happen three times in a row. I'm a 9244 and just lost to a 6800 and two mid level 7000s. What's going on? I've maxed out my armor and weapon (Dragon's Bane) and am even using two pieces of the Butcher's armor, which supposedly lowers an opponents hits. Really frustrating to be in a match and killed after wailing on an opponent only to be laid low by a single hit or maybe two.
