Unable to connect to chat!

In the most recent update, version 2.6.0, after updating and heading back into the game every time I click on the chat, it appears with "We were unable to connect to chat. Please try again." it's very confusing and frustrating because I am on wifi that works and it's never done this before the update, and this is also during the KrewGoals event which sucks because since the "people with 0 points don't receive prizes/ need 30 points" I can't participate nor receive the prizes, and my Krew is in #1, nor will I be able to send Kred, if anyone can help this would be extremely helpful!!
