Is the old - cancel and come back in 20 minutes for a better time working? I've had too many 8 hour dates. Totally not dating past the sunglasses. And I will gladly PAY GLU to let me remove that damm special task. The dates were standable, but that special task takes the place of a number of smaller ones. Let me select what to tap on, don't force me. Forcing people to do things they don't want on a date......well there's a word for that Glu. Do I have to spell it out? If the payout on the special task was knock your socks off, ok.....but it's not even that good. I wouldn't go back for seconds if you know what I mean.

Something weird has happened with it, to be sure. My Luz game is only getting 8 hour tasks, which I actually prefer for this event. My Stellan game is only getting offered 1 hour dates, which I despise. I can get an eight hour date done with one full bar and maybe 8 more energy or something, and it gives so many more event points. Ugh. I may just be getting the earned gift box for him.
I had 1 hour dates on one game, 3 of them and I got much better payout for them. my 8 hour gigs were giving me 1/4 the amount as 4 1 hour gigs. And that damm 9Energy BS special task. ugh. Last night I did that thing where I triggered a special offer, and went to sleep with 87 energy left. So, I had a big boost in the beginning on one device. But then these 8 hour gigs took over and I'm not crazy about it. Earned box gave me the bracelet, so, I had to buy a 2nd box it gave me the bag. Had to push my luck....4000$ and at that I stopped. It was Apple P of course, so she's running around screaming in my ear "I'm telling you I can get the gift box shoes. Just give me another 40 Stars. Right now SHE"S running around the casino. Apple P - step away from the gift boxes. Darmit. I gotta go "Apple P get your stanky butt over here...." be back soon guys. Anyone have restraints? Don't answer that Alkoholiks. I agree, the fact we have leisure time and are able to play this game, and are able to enjoy the day are all good things...
I have not really started the event yet, I didn't want to pay for the prizes, I want to see what I win, but I hope it is a wearable. The prizes are cute but I am not going to sweat bullets over things, I like to share my iPad so I can't play so often sometimes. Another reason I prefer short tasks.

This event is going to be such a grinder, I hate dates. Definitely agree Koko, the date special action is THE WORST. Aside from a couple extra exp, there is no upside to it. I can get that many exp from tapping a few fire hydrants.
So what is the best place to grind out the dates event? I picked up a new date partner because I don't want to spend stars on 'making up' with the stalkers, er, daters I did not see for two days or so in a row...So this is going slowly so far.
If you have a lot of extra money, date at Oak. The vintage wine costs 650 dollars and 4 energy, but it gives you a boatload of hearts. Dates are pretty energy cheap there, but cash expensive.
Um, No one has any kudos to Kris for making that self promoting video for her 30th Birthday? So many notables are in it. It seems that in 85 MTV played Music videos, and Robert decided for his wife's 30th birthday he'd use his industry connections and make Kris her own video. Hmmmmmmm, and who set up, encouraged and make Kim her very own video some 25 years later? Kanye. So, the two generations are going down the same road. There is something very special about a guy thinking their woman is so special, the whole world should take notice. William R Hearst and Marion Davies in the 30s (20s?) I'm halfway of getting my third item, it isn't noon yet and Bort&Vats have drunk many bottles of vintage wine at Oak's!
Their relationship is now maximized, but they don't rise in the top couple glitch list currently in position 28, which by the way was the best they reached.
I got an incredible set of gift boxes, would have been perfect if it weren't for the double 4k cash. But I have a rotten finger and of course I won the energy bolts when I finally have the update I'll stay away from the casino with this luck!
Look at that denim shirt always running away from me and that sunglasses that isn't available in the wardrobe, it hurts my eyes this result.
From the outfit offered in the boxes I just liked the shoes, I'm happy that the best items are being placed as prizes of the event and not in the boxes!
Two more dates and i'll be done with the weekend event. I have a ton of cash saved up and 4 and 8 hour dates at oak have allowed me to speed though. Plan to mostly ignore the game for the rest of the weekend unless the Android update comes through.
So what is the best place to grind out the dates event? I picked up a new date partner because I don't want to spend stars on 'making up' with the stalkers, er, daters I did not see for two days or so in a row...So this is going slowly so far.

I agree with many of you, it's hard not to hit that try again 40k gift box but I there's still items (mainly pets) that I've been trying to convince myself to get rather than stacking up on my K stars for the next update lol. Plus I got the new super cute shoes and dress for 60k.. Much better than if I would have spent the 40K and gotten 4000...

Ha! Speed dating, eh? The 2nd time my doll married, there was no fanfare either, no need for dress or wedding chapel, apparently because I kept avoiding the chapel, so the game just married us without the staged wedding.

There's no-one I want to date in my game so I've grabbed Jedi to be my friend-date cos I know he won't be snobby about it when I secretly spit out the vintage wine.
