I think 60 K-stars were a good thing because of the event items people earned last year is kinda unique there's a lot of people that want old event stuff and let's think about the.
Throwback event box is 10 or 20 even 30 k-stars being the price some players who earn the event items last year or months ago might think it's unfair because they worked hard for it, but other players who didn't get it got it for 10 or 20 or 30 k-stars

Carol Davida, just look forward to the future like me, there are more clothes to come, there's some every week. The throwback item are passé anyway :D

I don't think that I'm interested to participate for the next throwback sale anymore. Glu is making a bad business move in my opinion.

For a lot of the items, ie: the NY Eve hair everyone wanted. I remember the holiday time, and I busted my butt, numbed my fingers grinding for it. So...add the time and trouble I spent as stars, and therefore, it is going to cost more. So, I can see that justification for 60 instead of 40. It makes the person who earned it feel better about it being available again. And, how exclusive is an item if anyone with stars can purchase it out of the wardrobe? There has to be an element of chance. or an element of work.

We did a poll of what items we'd like added to the closet, and while Glu didn't do that, shortly after our polls (Thank you Vats) we had our first throwback sale. And sale, not because it's cheaper (that's what Black Friday Sales are for ;) ) but because the special giftboxes are available for sale. I was surprised when I saw they were 60Stars, and yes, I soured after my candy ring. But when I turned it around and grabbed the charm bracelet, and some exclusive missed out shoes, I was happy. :)

I wish we had a clue about what the BF Sale and weekend was going to be all about. :) The excitement is building.

I wish that was the case for me Koko. I'm usually very unlucky when I choose a random box from a weekend event and I don't get what I want. That's what makes it frustrating. It could be same thing for me if I choose to participate for the next throwback sale. I may choose a random box for a throwback sale and don't get what I want. I just don't like to gamble on this game just like in real life.

If you guys are looking for something fair, you came to the wrong place!:p

Remember that we just had an update where now everyone can kustomize their babies even if several people invested k-stars in the adoption only to have the baby of their dreams, and since a rule was broken ... wait for more!

This game is about profit, and if you don't want to spend on it or don't have money, you'll have to live with it.

As it's in life the power of decision is yours, to play or not play, pay or not pay, set priorities, this is all part of the gameplay proposition, we know how it works and the choice is ours.

I hate the boxes, so I didn't go for them because it's a gambling system, as Carol pointed, but there is public for all, and though people complain all the weekends, they return to bet thousands of k-stars next weekend because it's addictive, just like in a casino. And KKH was thought to be addictive.

Glu is always open to try new things, if doesn't work they remove and what works they keep. Glu also insert our suggestions in the game (hello Brad Pitt's hair!), but everything has its price targeting the best way for the company to earn a profit, though this is frustrating for us, this isn't something wrong after all it's their job.

There is no reason to cling to the idea that we work too much, spend too much or wait too much for certain exclusivity since in the end of the day who have money (or hack) will get whatever they want.

There is no way all of us to be happy or satisfied with the routes that the game takes, but it's necessary that the game introduce new routes, and the best way we show if we like or dislike a particular route is with actions and not words, if I don't like the boxes I don't buy the boxes for example.

I liked the thread and enjoyed reading the position of each one here, it's good to think out of the box, pun intended, to don't stay always raining in the wet!

I agree with you Nai. In my opinion its fair to pay 1.5x more for throwback boxes because you can only get past event items with no chance of getting Kash.

I know lots of players want event items for sale but that would take the fun out of playing all weekend for me and it would be unfair to those who spend lots of K Stars chasing weekend items and grinding like crazy. What I really like is that usually it doesn't matter how much money you spend on the weekends but how much time and effort you put in the game. To me its much more rewarding this way. :)

To me, I wouldn't consider it a throwback sale anymore since the throwback giftboxes are pricey than the weekend event giftboxes.

I think that's the only reason why Glu is losing their customers little by little because of the expensive prices to even begin with.
    Charli wrote: »
Well I wouldn't want the items to be available for purchase directly. It's unfair, not because of the price. I have been playing for over a year now and I enjoy having stuff that's exclusive, which I earned. Simply adding it back for purchase for a minimal price wouldn't make sense at all.

On the other hand, I have missed tons of clothing from gift boxes for the fear of getting cash or other items. So I love the throwback sale. And I'm willing to pay a greater price for it.

Players also complain there aren't enough clothes in the wardrobe to purchase, compared to last year. See that time, it was new. And remember we had events for only special occasions like holidays, Kim's birthday etc. And there weren't these special boxes all the time. It all started with Valentine's day this year where we can earn clothes every week.

I believe whatever they do, there's a reason behind it. Obviously which includes profit too. It's a free-to-play game, they'll make money from in-app purchases. And yeah, I used to play this worst game where I'd never get stuff from boxes unless I pay. At least KKH boxes aren't rigged!

There will be a sale sometime soon and we'll get stuff we've been wanting.

I think that it should be about what the customers want, not what Glu wants. I'm just one of those players who refused to gamble on this game since I'm usually jinxed when it comes to weekend event giftboxes and probably even throwback giftboxes as well.

I'm glad you're here Sabina. And your avatar is awesome. I have a host for next week's event. But anyone want to host Black Friday? I'm working on a header now.....so I'll check back here in a bit. See if I have a host, or we'll just start it without one. I am soo excited for the Weekend. I think I'm in overdrive till Sunday. And I know whenever the next throwback happens, I'll sit down decide how much Apple P gets to spend, and take it from there. I didn't start out favoring the iOS game, but it's not easy to support 3 games. I need that blown out hair look. At least for the Princess.

How long was it between the first, and the second Throwback? Maybe we'll be able to project when the next one will be.

I'm pretty OK with things as they are though I am not happy with some of the new clothing items added to the wardrobe at 120 or more stars (150 for the blue leopard dress) or $25,000 (for capri leggings?) and the very generic nature of some of the new clothing items at 40 stars.

With the throwback items, I kind of feel if I missed an item, I missed it. I spent 60 of my precious K-stars (precious because they are hard to come by for free on the Kindle!) once for a throwback box and received the rabbit in a carry-on bag. I won't be suckered into that again. I enjoy seeing some of the items I missed when I see photos of how others have styled.. of course, sometimes it hurts a little, but I think I'll survive. ;)

Here's an odd idea, do you suppose because the Kardashians are becoming more and more rich and famous and likely buying more expensive clothing (couture, baby..), the game is echoing this as we've played longer? If so, my K-Kash does not reflect my success. I should be making a ton more with each appearance, including K-stars.. maybe I should be able to turn my K-Kash into K-stars if I wanted to, too? That would be nice.

(and I think about this game way too much.)

I agree with everything that you said. I have mentioned before that this game is a gamble and that's what makes it so addictive for players to spend their money to chase after virtual items. I think that's why I never wanted to spend my kstars for the weekend event giftboxes & throwback giftboxes in the first place. I guess I'm just one of the few players that has self-control when it comes to saving my precious kstars.

The game is exactly the same but security is non existent.

So I'm still not sure nderstNdingbwjat will his has to do with gift boxes and being able to get "throwback" items.
    LuzVarias wrote: »
One reason <justification?> for the Throwback boxes being more expensive is that people often bought those items as gift boxes, which cost 40 Kstars <or honestly, MUCH MUCH more than that because of bad gift box juju>, or won them by grinding like crazy in the past. If items were being offered at discounted prices later on, why would people really bother to buy gift boxes or play the events intently? Also, players that already put effort and money into attaining those items the first time they were offered might be a little peeved at their previously-wasted resources.

But that's just one way of looking at it. I'd certainly prefer cheaper stuff in the game, too.

You know what, you hanks for weighing in on this. I completely see your opinion and I do agree and the nderstNdingbwjat why a throwback is more expensive! Thank you!
I think that's what's holding me back from spending my kstars for the next throwback sale and the weekend event giftboxes. I just don't wanna spend my kstars for several items that I will probably never use on my doll.

Glu should sell the missing earnable & giftbox items inside of our closets instead.

Yes! Instead of gift boxes they should do like a 24 hour "rummage sale" type thing in our wardrobe with high prices. Do it for a limited time and mark the stuff a little higher in price. To b completely honest Glu would make a KILLING in money off that type of "the event".
    Naimonster wrote: »
If they were to really put the missing items in our closets, they would put it at a very expensive price that is justifiable to all the other players who drop loads of KStars to open 10 boxes to get that one item. Or even more. And, if they put it a rather affordable price, guess how those people feel. No one would be happy either way. I'd have to agree with Luz.

Also, if Glu should put them in our closets, is it necessary for events and gift boxes then? The game would be lifeless, they'll just keep adding items in our closets week after week. (Yay I get to save tons of money but I'd probably be so bored)

I think throwback boxes has to be more expensive than event gift boxes. A lot of games use this principle, you don't want to risk spending a ton now, you get it later at a higher price. If anything, I'd vote it to be 50 KStars instead.

But they could do the limited time closet special (rummage sale). A very short time , a few it maybe 10 and a higher price. Still would leave things workable and they don't neEd to do it for the very single day event/weekend.. Maybe once every 3-4 months and if it's only 10 stars more, well you get my point.
I honestly think this game is being just plain greedy for their customers money. That's why everything is usually expensive. I don't think that everything on KKH is affordable & reasonable.

My whole thing is what's the point of a throwback sale if Glu is overcharging their customers? To me, paying 60 kstars for throwback gift boxes is a huge rip-off to me. The throwback sale should be the price of 20% off the original price of the weekend event gift boxes. My statement was that I think that the throwback gift boxes are extremely overpriced just for the throwback sale that's rarely seen too often on KKH.

I agree with Bobbie. I haven't played this game from the very beginning since it's been released. I think that it's nearly impossible for me to get all of the special & unique items from the previous weekend events.

I don't think that all of the previous earn ables & gift box items are hardly there so that will make it 10× harder for players to get what they want. I would rather buy what I missed inside of the closet from the previous weekend events then to spend 60 kstars on unwanted items that I will never use for my doll.

That's the thing. I will never be able to get items from the beginning when I didn't play. And if you look at Stardom, really the first game of this nature and KKH WAS BORN OFF THAT game, things are 1/3 of the cost. Who wants to pay $10 REAL DOLLARS for a hairstyle, dress, earrings, a t-shirt, etc. There are things Glu can do, allow trading (let me have that hairstyle you hate for those shoes I hate), do a limited time wardrobe sale of the old items (rummage sale type deal, 1 day only and not over inflated prices because they already are), you will see below. Allow them to be in the daily boxes (even though those have seemed to disappear), etc. there ARE options available that would make everyone happy. I can't get anything from before I started playing. There is no way, which is SUPER frustrating.

    Part 2:

    Here's a comparison:
First Andriod has VIP tickets who's is $19.99/mon and is offers better daily gifts, a chance for unique VIP items and 220 K Stars. (sorry for us iOS users Kindle users and Faacebook players, we can get that stuff)
    50 K Stars for $4.99
    105 K Stars for $9.99
    220 K Stars for $19.99
    460 K Stars for $39.99
    725 K Srats for $59.99
    1250 K Stars for $99.99

K Stars are roughly $.10 each. Since there are rarely ways to earn them without LOADS or spam and vid is only give 3-4 a day, we are forced to buy them if we want the items. So there was a hairstyle that I really love. It's got a head wrap with a white ribbon. In stardom I easily picked this up for 30 Stars I believe, I can't double check because Stardom won't open on my iOS or Andriod For the last 2 days). In KKH this is 100 K Stars. This is just one example. I'd gladly list more but how funny that Stardom won't even open anymore on my Android OR iPhone. I can't give more examples, but if you CAN get Stardom to open look and you will see.. Things are going 1/3 cost. I realize no one is FORCING me to play, so those of you that will rebuttle with that, I don't want to hear. As I just said Stardom doesn't even open anymore do I CANT play it, but it's funny how they slapped on the Kardashian name and increased all the prices. I just find this sad. And then those of you that do play and put hard earned money into this game are saying it's unfair that those of us are ho didn't play from day 1 shouldn't have an option to get items that we'd love.. Makes me very sad. We are all together playing this game. We should support one another. This thread is merely a suggestion/idea way for Glu to offer older things to newer players.

Now I picked up a daily box and I got 10 energy, 4 energy and $750 Kash. I could have easily gotten this in tapables in 1 day. So that was 90 K Stars. $9.00 for 14 energy and $750 Kash. How on EARTH ANYONE thinks that his is fair is beyond me. The remaining items in the unopend boxes were: 4 energy, 15 energy, a poorly recolored dress in pink (the sleeveless knee length with a belt) and the poorly recolored grey neck furry scarf. I already OWN that grey scarf so why was it in my boxes? Would I have gotten a dupe? That would have easily sent me off into a bad spiral.

I'm not sure why everyone is so against bringing back items cel the beginning when many of us didn't play. Allow is to trade things, although I would question how many of the people from the very beginning are still playing and sticking it out. Regardless. The price of the K Stars is outrageous; in stardom they are the sa m, but items costed way less K Stars. Just because it has the name Kardashian doesn't mean we price gouge. I'm not playing be cause it's Kardashians, I'm playing because the overall game play is fun, MINUS the daily boxes of high are so poor in my opinion. Something has to be done about this. $9 in money for SOME GIFT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. I HAVE ENOUGH Kash (not K Stars, Kash) and the extra 14 in energy wasn't worth it. I could have pixk d that up in tapables.

I hope this clears up my point in this thread. If you want me to pay 30 K Stars or 60 K Stars for a box, the hen it needs to be worth it. I'll post photos and more examples of stardom ever opens.

From the start til the end, no one said this. I am totally in favor of throwback boxes, as many here are, which is an option to get past items. I just didn't support the idea of putting them directly into everyone's closets to purchase. Glu has been giving us chance to get past items, 2 throwback sales, at 60KStars a box. I'm sorry you missed it due to some personal reasons, hopefully the next one is soon.

Did you check on your iOS tablet, the "other offers" tab? There are video offers there - at least on my iPhone. Is it not the same on the iPad? Can anyone else answer this? I think there are MANY opportunities there to watch preview videos of game apps to earn stars each day. You have to click the other offers tab, scroll through to find the videos, click, then it opens your browser to a video. You have to then press play and watch until the end, then switch back to your KKH game. I WISH these offers were available on the KindleFire.

I would think the iPhone and iPad would have the same K-star offers. Am I wrong?

The iPad has plenty of offers, too.

Also, checking back a few times a day to see if videos/offers have reloaded is always a good idea. I don't get my allotment in one fell swoop.
You'll never get every single K-Star item that you want, but if you save up and spend them during the VIP weekends, you should have a good amount to get pretty things that you want.

I lost the button to watch ads for KStars after I first purchased KStars. Due to some issues, I re-installed my game and the button was back. Then I purchased again and saw the button disappear again immediately. This is my iOS game. It's been months and countless tickets didn't solve it.

However, my android account has purchased KStars and still get to watch ads as per usual. My "Other offers" is usually empty.

I've heard people say these offers are affected by region, ads too.

Yep, no videos for me. May be one or two after months. And the other offers require personal info.
The account says Charli, but my name's Bilal.

The free star offers go away when you make an in-app purchase. That's why everytime I need to buy stars I switch over to my ipad and buy them there, so I can still watch the videos on my iphone.

And yes, I think the offers may be affected by region. I usually get around 5 offers per day (up to 10-12 if I'm lucky), but when I was on vacation in Moscow I was able to watch 30 videos or so in a day.

I'm in the UK and get around the same amount of video offers per day as Trine (5 per day or a few more if lucky). However, I always play and make purchases on my iPhone and the offers don't go away. There's been maybe once or twice that I've only been given one video per day. I'm not complaining, obviously, I'm just saying!

I understand that it's affected by what platform you play on / what region you're in, but I think it's unfair that some people can never get free stars by watching videos.

Yes what happened to the daily giftboxes?? Im sorry I just randomly tought of the lack of daily gift boxes, and then you wrote it so I gotta ask

If you are not getting your daily gift bag, this is a glitch. Please submit a ticket to Customer Care.

The majority of iOS players still get videos after purchasing stars. I believe Customer Care was looking into someone's ticket about this. I will try and find it, or you can always contact them directly and ask them to look into this.

I'd like to say, no one is saying you shouldn't have access to old items, that's why they come back as Throwback items. So, I feel like others, that since we originally had to work for them and put in the time and tapping, they should be more expensive than the regular Event Giftboxes.

And the comparison to Stardom doesn't stand up. What Celebrity is Stardom about? None of the Stardom profits have to go to the Endorsing Celebrity. Does Stardom have bonafide, authorized designer items? Everything is more in Kim's game, because it is Kims game. The difference is like comparing Generic and Brand name. Store brand vs. Ritz.

A lot of the other points were diverse, and valid. I just wanted to clear up the erroneous points. :) I'll reopen now. Carry on. I'm just sorry this is making some players unhappy. :(

Same here. I think it's affected by region.

I read all posts and here's my two cents:

First I want to say - I don't spend money on this game ( only bought Kim's birthday pick for 10 eur).
I play this game from the very beginning and yet I don't own every exclusive piece. I've missed so many events, especially the summer ones, because I travelled every weekend and I still drool over some items. But one can't have everything.

I don't think its unfair that the throwback box costs 60kstars. It has an EXCLUSIVE item inside, that someone got it with grinding or spending tons of kstars in the past. So you pay more to have it now. Don't get me wrong - I am for reducing prices in KKH, it's way too expensive, but you can't ask to get the same items from months ago for 40 or less stars. It will be unfair to all those who grinded or spent kstars on it.
How would you feel irl for example - u camped in front of HM for hours just to get that exclusive piece from Balmain. And let's say you've made it, you got it, with fists and ripped extensions. And then after some time HMxBalmain decide to make a throwback sale - unlimited quantity and for less money. It's not exclusive anymore. You won't feel good about it and you will never again go and camp outside HM for so called exclusive items. Once again I say, don't get me wrong, I am for equal chances in game and in rl, but we are talking about exclusive items, and we can't have them all.
I missed the first throwback, but I saw the second one. There was nothing I wanted so bad, so I didn't open. And I'm fine with it. The only thing I want really bad is the Kylie lips. And I'm ready to spend some serious amount to get them. Someday, if available again.

Game, real life, it's all the same. It's a gamble. I'm sorry, but you can't have everything.

Here, here, Sassy! I agree with all of that, you sum it up well. Exclusive items don't exist if they're available to everyone. I think 60 Kstars is fair for a throwback sale, because you know you're going to win an exclusive item (but please, Glu, please remove things like that St Paddy's Day ring!).

I saw someone suggested separate pallets containing hair, shoes, outfits, accessories for the throwback sales and you could pick a pallet. That would definitely be fair and I'm sure people would be more likely to purchase Kstars during a sale if that were the case.

60 Kstars, imo, for a throwback us fair. However, 40 Kstars for weekend gift boxes is ridiculous and far too expensive.

(Oh, and I noticed you used your own experience with H&M and Balmain to compare :( I feel for you, hun!)

I understand Sassi. At the end of the day you are entitled to your own opinion. But am I the only one who that 60 kstars is a rip-off for the throwback sale? I mean why would Glu call it a throwback sale then? They should change the title of the selling since the throwback items prices isn't decreased. I'm a person that's usually looking for a good bargain.

Oh, here's what happened. I turned on my WonderWoman Switch, cleaned the glass panels on the diningroom chandelier. Dusted and put them back up (god I love my dishwasher) then I made stuffing, I made cranberry sauce from the berries. I started pushing tables and vacumming the den, then I hung some Christmas Garland over the top of the China closet - 3 strands, gold, white, and of course Purple. Phew. I made my sons lunch, and looked all over for something I misplaced. All the while coming back here. I saw a foregin language, I jumped back saw a little heated discussion about fair, and community, and stuff, so I had to go back and read. and the pages flew quickly after Vats on the money post.

So, once I saw everything was cool, I reopened. My Husband and son are Norwegian descendants but aside from a few terms of endearment, well, sometimes I have trouble with English. I'll delete it since you asked. And sorry for the confusion. We have teasers for the event thanks to KatePilgrim.

I would have to say that the weekend event giftboxes is cheaper than the throwback giftboxes. It makes no sense to me that the throwback sale has giftboxes that cost 60 kstars to open up additional throwback giftboxes.

LOL this thread is making me very opinionated. But a lot of players thinks that the throwback sale was a success and that it's a good idea. But that doesn't mean that I'm convinced to participate on the next throwback sale though.

I posted a suggestion in another thread about the Throwback boxes, and how much more I would enjoy purchasing them, if they were less "trick-bag," and a little more predictable. That said, I don't mind paying extra for an exclusive item, since it is "exclusive." Throwback sales are not labeled "discount," or "bargain" because that would defeat the aspect of exclusivity, I think. To characterize Glu as greedy, I think, is unfair based solely on this particular issue. They provide the players a choice to gamble, or not. Kudos to you for sticking to your guns. Me? I will be waiting anxiously for the Black Friday sale, so I can spend all of my Kstars!

Then Glu should change the title from Throwback sale to Throwback items because they are confusing the players who are wondering where is the sale but there isn't one since the original price of the weekend giftboxes is increased.

I never said that I wasn't gonna participate for the Black Friday sale. I missed out on it last year since I didn't play this game since it's been released. But I'm usually participating for the V.I.P. events though. I don't think that it's necessary to get all of the items if I can't afford it during the V.I.P. event because 500 points for a whole bunch of virtual items is extremely outrageous to me.
