Hanukkah begins this evening, December 2nd
and runs through the evening of Monday the 8th.
Once again we've asked Astray to help us celebrate
and share the rich tradition of the Holiday,
as we segue from one event to another, and then still a 3rd..
First up.......tomorrow begins a new event of
Who Knows What from Monday through Thursday.

And one way we celebrate anything around here,
is by tapping for prizes!
Do we know what's on the agenda for the week that lies ahead?

TBH every week it is pretty much the same, figure playing for a TB Kollection, with 2 Black Boxes, a Gold Box and a tB Kollection box for the last prize. So by 'spoilers' you mean finding out what the event will be.
Of course, there is always a chance we'll be surprised.......oh.......you mean us there another SYS this week? I'm keeping my mouth shut, not going to take sides on that one.
Did you eve have a boyfriend who was absolutely the best kisser in your life? Ok tha was th old SYS. Then the boyfriend goes and either grows a mustache or shaves it off, but it totally changed the way it felt when he kissed you? That's me and the new SYS. Lol. So much for keeping quiet, lol. Oh, who am I kidding? If there's another SYS this week, i
ll do it. A kiss is still a Kiss after all.

Nice, thanks Kalinda. I like when Professional events overlap with the monthly updates (I'm assuming December's is coming this week) because the grinding I'm already doing for my TB helps me quickly reach the new max number of fans. Hate seeing my celeb ranking at anything other than #1!

Ahhh, I see spoilers as pictures, but I see your point. I'm happy for a Professional, very eager to wait for the update. TBH, I see a lot of players saying they couldn't do another SYS right after this one. But I'll whine a little at the beginning if we have one, and then set out to do it all again.

I finished with 12 extra points, that's a very slim margin but I'm flexible. (TBH now that I won the hair I think the kissing just got better. lol) On another thought.......

@Astray, aren't you posting the first night here?

Often I've had people ask me what's Hanukkah? What's its purpose?

Well I'm here to share what Hanukkah is all about with you all

Hanukkah, which is Hebrew for dedication, is the Festival of Lights.

It commemorates the victory of the Maccabees over the Syrian Greek army, and the subsequent miracle of rededicating the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and restoring its menorah, or lamp.

The miracle of Hanukkah is that only one vial of oil was found with just enough oil to illuminate the Temple lamp for one day, and yet it lasted for eight full days.

My family & I celebrate Hanukkah at home by lighting the menorah (each night we light one additional candle to the number from the previous night), telling stories about Hanukkah, playing dreidel , and eating special foods that are unique to Hanukkah. Keep in mind that all that we all celebrate Hanukkah differently some people sing Hanukkah songs or exchange gifts after lighting the menorah, which is also called a hanukkiah. Whereas some people attend or host Hanukkah parties.

As i stated last year, on the first of Hanukkah’s eight nights, only two candles are placed in the Hanukkah menorah (also known as a hanukkiah): the shammash, or helper candle, which has its own designated spot (usually in the centre), and another candle. Each night, another candle is added so that on the eighth and final night of Hanukkah, nine candles (the shammash plus eight others) are lit.

The candles are placed in the menorah from right to left (just as Hebrew is written from right to left), but are lit from left to right. The shammash candle is always the first one lit, and is used to light the others, starting with the left-most one. Think of it as lighting the candle representing the newest night first.

Before lighting the candles (but after placing them in the menorah), we recite three blessings.

First prayer: Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, Melech haolam, asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav v’tsivanu l’hadlik ner shel Hanukkah

Second prayer: Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, Melech haolam, she-asah nisim la’avoteinu bayamim hahem bazman hazeh.

Before i share the third I'd just like to say that it is only to be said on the very first night of Hanukkah!

Baruch atah adonai elohenu melech ha’olam, shehecheyanu, v’kiyimanu, v’higiyanu lazman hazeh

We then light the menorah by lighting the shammash!

Thanks for the interesting info, @kokokokonut and @astray! What a beautiful holiday.

I’m also hoping that our feedback on SYS doesn’t scare Glu off from scheduling more of them (even in their current form), because I’m always stoked to have some free new items and little bonus prizes. It breaks up the monotony a bit!

I’ve noticed I only really get 8-hour gigs these days; is that normal? I’ve got a small stack to work through during our mid-week professional event :-)
