Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.

However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.

On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.

In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

Boost is more prevalent now because gems are much easier to come by. Back in 2014, you didn't have daily challenges (20 gems) and showdown events (100 gems). Back then you had to buy gems / boost, so people didn't use it as freely as they do now.

I don't care if I offend any of you or what you guys think, but removing boost only levels the paying field. And it will all come down to skill at that point.

The "paying" field is what keeps the lights on at the office. :)

If we are both boosted and tuned to the same lobby then it still comes down to skill. Is your tune better than mine? Can you launch and shift better than I can? Do you know the shifts for your car? And so on. The skill is still there boosted or not

I dont think that z28 is a boosted time. But I have to ask why waste your time racing in low lobbies and not use boost? @RUSHV8 The only point to racing 1630 is to use boost and pinks as reg races gives you what 10-20pts. That is a waste of time.

really @JohnKIV , a 1628 Z28 doing a overall of 11.891...of course it is boosted! Well, that SVT Cobra gives me 45-50 points for each race, if you think it is a waste of time, again, that's your opnion. My point here is to show why the boost takes the fun out of the game, not to discuss if i race in the "x" lobby or the "y" lobby.

Got stuck without a team thanks to some a**holes that disbanded the day before turf. Went ahead and formed a team to get my daily bonus and been racing on a team of 1 with no boost through about half way. Enough no boost racin (or just real bad boosted) to keep me in the top 1000. Not gonna win a car or anything, but still plenty of activity to keep the game alive without boost.
