Prior to last week I was building resources to move to platinum and eventually diamond. I had read a bunch of posts, particularly by
@DFBB, about cycle capping players and it seemed like a fun challenge. However mid-way through last week, after legends were introduced to WOH, I decided to change course and see if I could build an all legend team using the cycle cap concept, but at the gold level.
Today was my first shot and it went well. It turns out, with minimal starting lxp, you can cycle cap the HOF player at gold (with Field Pass) in 7 cycles. I just squeaked my 7th cycle in 3 minutes before the deadline to cap Scioscia. If I remember correctly after the first cycle I had enough lxp to move him to S2, then S8, G1, G4, G6, G8 and finally cap.
Now I can hardly wait until next week to see who the reward player is... sounds weird to say it but (excluding the upcoming holiday) I’m going to be spending my weekends looking forward to Monday!

Adding to @JEDDDOGGY's post, I was very surprised at the amount of duplicate lxp that we received. I felt that I had to be super choosy about which legend to cycle cap, but as it turns out, I'm already in position to cycle cap again next Monday.
Should give you some sort of an idea
I would guess that is still the one advantage in gold, where if you pull a legend from outside of WOH you still have some hope of leveling him. Outside of that, looks like diamond is still the place to be.
On another note- if anyone has a really strong reset club that needs one for Monday’s, let me know. I keep joining clubs that claim to be “top” reset clubs and I end up scoring half the points while 1/3rd of the guys barely play (I’ve hit between 250-350M in each of the last three weeks). I’d love to be in a club with a bunch of guys who all really grind on WOH Mondays.
Still need quite a few to finish off my active roster, but it’s been a ton of fun putting this together. This game has fully activated my OCD. I’m completely hooked.
Here’s hoping for a 470 legend Eddie Murray as the WoH reward next week!
It was fun to build but now that I’m done, I’m trying to figure out the next step. Contemplating a move to diamond; but not sure how that will work. I don’t love the thought of abandoning all these legends. I’m also not crazy about the $20 per week weekday FP. The plan is to hold for now and see how things play out.
I'm in the same position calnate is in. Once you have an almost full team of legends capped its kinda like...ok now what? People seem to think OMG capped legends....I'm going to be honest I could care less if a player is a legend or a bxp, I just want to always progressively get better. You also cant tell me that any gold team is better then a diamond team that I stacked. Granted its a TON of work to get there, leveling players from boxes becomes obsolete.......BUUUT ....if you can level 1-2 players a week through WOH, then save resources for the next cycle....how is leveling players through boxes better? TBH its more inefficient because the drop rate, then your spending all your gold on getting the players.
Maybe I'm missing something. TBH I like the idea of getting and leveling players through WOH better then pulling players in boxes.
NOT to mention technically you can level players not through WOH with 30 percent discount, will it take forever .....YES.....ever try improving a max mythic geared WOW character, you can go a month of playing 40+ hours a week before you get a 5% upgrade. The challenge isn't what bothers me, its sitting status quo because I have a shiny team of "legends"
This forum is dominated by team builders....guys who do what is best for their teams, resource building and personal gains. Can I suggest that you take your team and go compete.
For a new challenge, go take that team and put it to the test. That squad is good enough for a club that has "top club" in the title. Go put those horses to work!!! I guarantee you won't be bored and will find your club might not be as complete as you thought (platoon for CVC yet with double blowout players, etc?!)
There are a lot of ways to play this game......in a vacuum team building is not my personal favourite....get out there and put that team to the test is my suggestion!
