For me, the plan is to upgrade only when I have to, my belief is that before the next Tier, I will be able to acquire a more powerful weapon and upgrade it. If I upgrade now, I may be forced to upgrade a second time. TOOBAD says: SLOW down the refresh cycle!

The FLARE is 5 weeks old and you won't need to upgrade the QUAZAR for another 2 months, so I'm still not following ... I believe the QUAZAR will get through the next TIER easily. Of course you may pick up another TESLA in 5 weeks, but you won't need to use it right away.
Either way you're golden.
The issue with TOOBAD is that it's predicated on spending gold once a month during the VIP. I chose the SNIPER VIP because the SIEGE TOWER will cruise through this TIER and decided to wait for a 16.5 HEAVY.

At its basic level. progress in this game, for whatever that is worth, is measured by the time, energy and money spent on permanent assets: Base and Drone, versus time spent on assets of declining value like weapons. Right now, I am working on my Drone and you are upgrading your Tesla. Over the long haul, it seems like my approach will pay off. I may have a different opinion at the next Tier upgrade when I am bleeding Medkits like crazy.
For me, it boils down to this: The Flare is working for me !00%, no Medkits. Why would I put Diamonds into the area that is working best, when I have so many other areas that need help?

Now that's what I'm talking about !! With over a day remaining, I don't think you'll have a choice (GOLD or SILVER) stop playing for awhile and see what happens ... I think you'll be headed to the GOLD LEAGUE.
Better yet grab your top 30 weapon and take the week off LOL Not saying don't play, just switch the cruise control on.

BTW, I would give the 410K weapons a B+. The 410K Drone is a real help though. I don't expect the 510 K weapons to be a game changer, but I am now obsessed with getting them, so I am going to spend some time and get them before day's end.

That brings up a rather interesting question. What WOULD be a game changer? Start a battle and just sit there while the drone lays waste to the competition? In a typical battle the 92K drone might register 1-3 kills (if the battle actually lasts long enough) and maybe even win the battle in the end. For this I also gave the 92K drone a B. So the real question is will this get any "better" as we progress, more specifically, does the drone's killing power justify the cost in diamonds? I have no way of knowing this as yet, maybe you do ...

I used a buy in to upgrade my Heavy to the Silk, 15.5 3.07M/5.03M, out of the box noticeably better than may long time fave, the ST, 2.84M, fully upgraded. Won't do any upgrades until my endless Drone upgrade project is at 510 K.

A "buy in" is when you buy Gold. I always buy during the VIP, because you get weapons and other stuff as bonuses. I use that to pre-buy Energy credits. If you Max out the VIP by spending 3500 Gold, another Tier of prizes opens up which we have called the "Super VIP" This week the Silk is available if you spend 7000 Gold (roughly $250 real money)
