Covid-19 is on everyone's mind, and taking over our daily lives.  In the past members objected to isolating conversation and subjects.
A decision was previously made here, that if members wanted a dedicated thread, we should do it

I've unfollowed/deleted those people a long time ago so thankfully I haven't had too much of that on my timeline. We called my in-laws a few days ago and told them not to go anywhere and let us know if they need anything. People around here aren't taking this seriously. Some are, but like I said in the other thread it's like a vacation for most. If I have to see one more complaint about how bored someone is I'm going to scratch my eyes out. Better to be bored than sick.

@soundspretty i was shocked at it i thought i had got all the uninformed ppl out. Im just happy there are ppl who do take it serious and are following steps to stop it from spreading.

Today was my last day at work for a while. It really feels strange because everything seems so uncertain. This scenario is a huge reminder on how fragile our life circumstances can be. One thing is for sure, I'm never going to take everything for granted again. I hope you dolls stay safe and strong!

Everything here doesn't seem to goes well 8 days ago we had 19 confirmated cases in the country and we had a long weekend and 1 day later we went up to 82 confirmated cases. Today is the first day of the 30 day quarantine the government ordered but everything it's the same and everyone is getting ready to go on holiday, yesterday in my school was our last day and almost the half of the class were absent, and after school i went to check my instagram and all of them had stories on the beach, the worst part is that it's the same beach where the CC went up to 82. I don't know how many CC are in the country but in my state we are at 0, Hopefully it stays like that since i'm worried of my grandparents :(
Please everyone stay safe at home!! <3

My city announced they were in dire need of blood donations due to lack of participation around virus fears. Something to look into

I live in Las Vegas, which is a major tourist city and that is a large sum of our economy. They closed down every hotel and casino here. The entire strip is empty, like empty and it’s so eerie because it’s always full of people. I’m just practicing social distancing and staying home as much as possible.

That's a good idea! Medical professionals who take blood already have to be excellent at infection control and using all the appropriate protective equipment so it must be really safe

I'm interested in people's experiences/tips/recommendations on working from home? I haven't really done it before but it looks like things will be going that way for most of us in the near future.

I'm worried I'm basically just going to watch youtube all day and play with my cat? How do I stay focused

@Lisylis i set aside time to work like a specific time to work. Depending what you do for a living you should kinda give yourself a time period to work. Its kinda nice tbh

Where I live, ppl seem to be on top of things. No one is really out other than the grocery store doing their runs, there's a greeter there dispensing hand sanitizer and sanitizing carts.

My family is doing well just at home since my job is closed, my husband still has to work though. I have to take my 8 year old out for a bike ride for atleast 30 minutes since schools are closed and she needs to get the energy out, but we're still isolated none the less. She still has friends knocking all the time which is a little annoying, I'd think their parents would say no.

My sister texted me that in our hometown, someone went to work AT THE MALL after testing positive for the virus 😠 my nephew went ahead with his spring break vacation in Mexico 🤦🏻‍♀️ I just honestly have no words for how ppl are handling it. It is frustrating, but we can't control the actions of others, only what we do. Wash your hands, help the elderly if you can, and stay home unless necessary. If you're young and healthy, don't worry, you'll probably be fine, but do your part to prevent the spread and help those around you that are most vulnerable. If you're young and healthy with symptoms, stay home and quarantine, save hospital beds for those that need it most. I hope everyone is managing well. We all have to make sacrifices in order for things to get better, including just staying home as much as possible. My son's first birthday party scheduled in a couple weeks has been cancelled, we'll do a little something just us at home with a small cake, but no guests.

The virus hopefully will taper off eventually like all viruses do, but obviously the goal is to not overwhelm our hospitals and keep the death toll to an absolute minimum by minimizing exposure. I'm praying for everyone affected, either those who are affected by the virus, or those families struggling financially bc of missed paychecks. Look out for loved ones, and stay safe everyone ❤

I’m in Vietnam. On the 6th of March, we were going to celebrate since it’s 21th day in a row when there was no more new victim of Covid-19 virus. Just in few more days, our government was going to declare that we defeated this terrible outbreak. Everything went well until the 17th patient had been found. The 17th patient had been in Italy and UK but she lied about it. She has 2 passports, one is Vietnamese and the other one is British which make it easier for her to lie. She said that she quarantined herself ever since she came back to Vietnam. But her driver, her aunt and one innocent passenger who happened to sit near her on the flight back to Vietnam caught the virus too.

Our whole country was on fire on the day that she was declared to be the 17th patient. And day by day, many more victims had been found. Today, we have our 79th case. Can you believe it? I don’t know what is on her mind. She lied and made others suffer. It’s so frustrating that we can’t open people’s head and put “Be thoughtful and responsible” note into it. Luckily that, no one in our country died because of it. But there are 2 old patients whose situations aren’t very good.

I’m amazed that Vietnam has been popular recently thanks to its effective plan to deal with the virus. Meanwhile, I feel so sorry for people who lost their loved people during this outbreak. This is never what we want…

So... Please be careful whenever you go outside or interact with others. Washing hand frequently and wearing masks anytime. Protect yourself and your beloved is the very 1st priority now.

Thank you! I work for the government in like, farming policy so it's mostly writing and I'll occasionally need to skype call other people. Is it a good idea to get dressed? I feel like working in pyjamas sounds amazing but I might take it less seriously and maybe just have a nap at some point during the day.

@elettrahere those look DELICIOUS. What are they? My brain is processing them as donuts but I'm not sure that's the case

@Bear_KKH and @Anastasia J Kennedy it's so frustrating to hear about people who just don't take this seriously at all and ruin the efforts of everyone that is trying to protect their country.

@Lisylis people advise to actually get dressed, even wear make up if you usually do when you go to work in order to keep your normal routine going 😊

My grandma is 86 years old and she’s staying in our house because my mom wants her near. We don’t go out often, I’ve been staying inside for 10 days except my dietician appointment. Staying in is not bad! I play video games, sleep all day and cook different types of meals for the household. In today’s menu, we have gluten-free onion rings 🥳

There are almost 200 cases in Turkey. My mother is a dentist so she has to go to hospital every single day. I’m scared, I hope she won’t get infected. 😢

@Lisylis It is making me so angry as well. This entire situation could get better much faster if ppl would just listen. I'm so sad for the vulnerable and those missing out on paychecks they need to get by. I want things to get better so everything can go back to normal, but unless we can contain it, it's going to drag out. Ppl going on spring break, flooding resorts and beaches and they'll all go back home and spread it more ☹ It's very selfish.

I’m in UK and the govt announced schools are shutting from tomorrow. Kept my son off anyway as want to limit how much we’re out as I’m not 100% certain if I fall within vulnerable category. I have muscular dystrophy so I’m going nowhere for the foreseeable future. Me and hubby decided we’re going to use this time to up T’s artistic lessons as his school only do one hour of art&music every other week and teach him cooking as well as his schoolwork. We’ve divided up subjects between us as he’s better at science and maths whereas languages and english are my thing. Honestly though I’m terrified. I have carers come in four times a day as I have to use hoists and other equipment just to use the bathroom, so I’m worrying about that. The food situation is freaking me out as T is autistic and massively fussy about food and I have to watch what I eat as I can’t eat dairy food. I’m so glad that I can put this here as I’m trying to put on a brave face for T as he gets really anxious but it’s hard. So thank you for setting this thread up so we can talk and share our worries and boost each other, I think I’m done rambling now.

I came home to my parents house a few days ago because the last thing i wanted was to be stuck in London. The way people are stockpiling food in major cities in the UK, the supermarkets are very scarce. I can't afford to stockpile on my own so i'm lucky to have parents who naturally always keep a lot of food (they never stopped shopping for 6 people even after their kids moved out haha). I hope that when everyone is in lockdown it will give the supermarkets time to replenish.
I also want to be available to go out in place of my parents, since they're in their 60s now so i worry about them. But my mom works at a private school so even though all schools are shutting from Friday, her boss said they may have to stay open? Hopefully not but at the same time someone needs to look after the local doctors children..
I'm also worried about my grandmothers as they're in America. One is 94 and the other is 81. It's a difficult enough time for them because they both lost their husbands within the past couple years. Wish i could visit them. Hopefully this year i'll be able to.

Today is father’s day in Italy but I can’t celebrate with my father who is 83 y.o.
Why? Because in February and early March I traveled around a bit for work, and when our country went into total lock down on March 8th I decided to isolate myself in a very small apartment.
That was the responsible thing to do!
We have to preserve senior citizens health as they are the most vulnerable.
I went to the authorities yesterday to see what my options are, I was told that next week they will sign my permit to drive back to our family’s farm, but I will still have to keep distance from my father.
Please, please, please: stay safe, stay home and try to stay sane!

The schools here in the Netherlands are closed since monday. But everyone here thinks it’s a vacation🤦🏽‍♀️. They got homework but no one here in our street is doing it. Normally a lot of kids are late for school, but now everyone is already dressed and outside in the morning🤦🏽‍♀️. My kids can go outside but in our own garden, only the 2 of them, I don’t want them on the streets with other kids. Going to the grocery store is awful! You can’t even find everyting to make a good meal, so now I’m just improvising. My kids are asking already when they’re getting a normal meal. “What you don’t like the food I’m making?”😱 My husband will be home early today, my brother will be watching the kids so we can go to the store together. Hopefully todat we will have better luck🍀.
It’s stressfull being home this much with the kids but we will survive! We have homework and frozen2 on disney+🙌🏽🙌🏽😅.

My peers here in Poland also ignore the fact that schools are closed because of a serious reason. They all post things like "CoronaVacation" on their social media and there are so many things wrong with this I don't know where to start. First of all, how can a person treat this break as a "vacation"? To associate such a serious problem with holidays is beyond me. Second of all, they are all meeting together and hanging out and that bothers me so much, because a person who follows the rules and stays home can get infected (for example their parents) solely because of their ignorance. I can't even IMAGINE going out and then coming back home to my slightly older mom and potentially exposing her to the virus just because I couldn't stay home for 2 stoopid weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️ It just saddens me because I'm doing everything in my power to protect my mom and some people are just so inconsiderate and lack perspective.
Stay safe everyone and I wish you a wonderful day ❤️🦥
