Oh god This is awful! My prayers are with the families and people of Manchester :( no confirmation yet to what actually caused it. Poor kids and families just out watching their favourite artist perform and this happens
I was supposed to be at this very concert this evening with my young nephew and his friend but we ended up booking tickets to the London concert this Friday night

WHAT? OMG, That is too close for comfort. You must be especially shaken. Had it not been for a twist of fate, you would have been face to face with it. This is not the world I envisioned for my son when I held him in my arms and dreamed of his future.

We heard a little while ago terrorism suspected. :(

Um, the other issue here...? TMI. And you should've been given local anesthesia at least, btw. That's a possible lawsuit there. Hate how they prey on the youngest people that way, because they think they don't know any better and can get away with it. The rare doctor can be truly vile. I will say this, though, I had heart surgery with twilight. And a giant fn screen showing EVERYTHING. That's the way the type of surgery I had is done. While I feel super bad for you, I will say, there's nothing quite so horrible as watching--IGNORING--the image of a rotoblade snaking through you, something going wrong with the anesthesia, and you screaming DON'T LET ME DIE! Oh yeah. There's the pain in your left arm. Which is SO insane that you actually DO want to die. Anddddd, 'nuff said about that.

Oh Koko thanks for your concern. My hospitalizing experience was absolutely traumatizing. It felt like pins & needles. That's how best that I can describe my surgery pain.

Well, I'm usually expressing my internal thoughts when I come to this thread isabeau. I speak what's on my mind since I tend to think & write on this thread like it's my open journal to me. I try to be descriptive as possible especially with my wordings, as gouging as it graphically sounds . If something went wrong during the surgery, of course I would've sued the hospital. No doubt about it. There's some hospitals at a certain extent that has mistreated their patients, and I was one of them. So, I'll have to agree with you on that one. But, I'm such a spiritual person in rl, so that's not apart of my character to do such a thing like that. I had faith in the medical staff that they knew what they were doing. I was scared, but I just knew that I was gonna be alright. I had to put my big girl's panties on and dealt with the pain. As simple as that. I'm not gonna say that I handle my surgery like a champ. But, I'll say this though. While I was on the healing process, I took painkillers since the hospital where I had my surgery at sent in a daily visiting nurse to my home to clean up my open wounds. I was on a speedy recovery and was healed in about two weeks twice in a row.

Carol that sounds awful! I only had one minor surgery that didn't require anesthesia however they numbed the area so I didn't feel a thing. It was just a weird experience knowing they were doing something (I couldn't see but I could feel the pressure).

I heard about Manchester last night. Any attack is sad but this was at a place where young children were present, some probably without a parental escort. I was reading about one couple who were waiting outside for their daughter to enjoy the concert when they heard the explosions. I can't even imagine how everyone was/is feeling. Amy I'm glad you're safe.

Carol, i missed that before, i can not believe they kept you awake for that. THEY SUPPOSEDLY GAVE ME TWILIGHT FOR MY ORAL SURGERY AND i was out like a light. For back surgery, even for the steroid injections in my back have always been do e with me out. I agree with Isabeau, everyone preys on the young and i experienced. The only thing i was awake for was my csection. Otherwise strap me down, put me out and do what you gotta do. Was the i surance saying you couldn't be asleep for it?

Apparently it was a suicide attack and 22 people have died so far & only 59 injured, I've been watching bbc news. Manchester is only an hour forty-six minutes away from the city I am from, so it's not far at all.

Reading more about it this morning and my heart is aching. Two victims have been confirmed so far and they are both so young. Not to mention the others who didn't lose their lives but were affected. The concert had just ended so I'm sure people were making their way out which is what the attacker(s) wanted. People are still looking for their loved ones via social media :( Hugs to everyone out there who lives near or has family in that area. I'm sure this is going to leave a lasting impression.

So they've confirmed two victims names so far? I absolutely agree with you I think they were waiting until people left the concert to do this, it is always sad when a tragedy strikes and lives are taken.

When I've gotten the surgeries twice soundspretty, I believe that they did numbed the area. But, somehow I still felt the pain when I was awake. They told me that I didn't need anesthesia for that surgery in particular.

Yes one was 18 and the other 8 years old.

Hmm. They should've been able to tell you were in pain and given you something :( That just sounds cruel. I understand not using the anesthesia if it's not needed. When I had my knee surgery they gave it to me but it wasn't covered under insurance. I think it was about $1000 just for that.

It's so unbelievable right⁉I don't think that my health insurance had anything to do with it. I think that it was the doctor's order that requested for me to stay awake during the surgery.

I'm even so jelly of my little teenage sis. She just recently gotten surgery on her right ear and she was put on anesthesia. She had hers done at a better hospital than me because my mom schedule the appointment for her. When I've gotten it done twice, it was most likely two emergency surgeries for that matter.

Ah I saw it on BBC News, a fan of hers she'd met in 2015 and then the little girl (not gonna mention their names out of respect). Also there's about 13 people missing from the concert including another 8 year old girl I think is what was stated by BBC News, I hope they're found safely amongst other people.

Yes I'm hoping they are just lost in the confusion with no way to communicate right now. Positive thoughts, I'm sure some lost cellphones during the craziness or had their batteries drained after. I can't imagine what's going through those family's minds however.

Another confirmed victim was a 26 year old man. As of last night reports were claiming that over half the victims were underage although I don't think that was officially confirmed. It honestly makes me sick that young children lost their lives to something so cruel and senseless. Also thinking about the many others who were injured due to the type of bomb it was. I can't imagine sending your child off with family or friends for something fun and then something like this happens.

They actually confirmed it a few hours ago that majority of the victims are children which is even more horrible, so I think it's more than likely true about what you heard on the news last night.

ISIS claims they are responsible for it which isn't surprising to me since I called it anyway. They seem to claim they are behind a lot of attacks when 9/10 they probably aren't.

also heard about the Philippines, praying for the city of Marawi.

I've been such an emotion wreck today. I've always been very empathetic which is sometimes a curse because I've been putting myself in other's shoes and I can't imagine the terror or heartbreak I'd been feeling right now if I were in that situation or if someone in my family like my little sister was hurt in that manner. It isn't often that a city is shaken up and I hope more than ever people are able to come together and find strength and peace.

Anyway, I just discovered the dumbest show: Riverdale. I'm hooked. It's so dumb and I can't help it. I don't know if you guys ever watched PLL but I had to quit because of the levels of ridiculousness. This is easily at that level but I'm eating it up.

I'm still a hardcore PLL fan hahaha, love it, it's so insanely ridiculous that it is good! But that show is reaching it's end, so I'm going to check out Riverdale!

Oh and my KKW and Kristen lip kit arrived today, yay!! My husband said I could play with it today but he then has to wrap it up for my birthday, lol!

I actually got pretty far in PLL. I think it was partway through season 6 when the girls were still trapped there was a moment when they were trying to escape and found like Tony Stark level transparent screens, etc. One of them asked how xxx (don't wanna spoil for anyone) got all this stuff and the answer was that they "made good investments". I literally turned off the TV and haven't gone back lol!

Riverdale is a lot like PLL in that it seems every character has something shady going on and the acting is sometimes over the top. Like you're interested, but you also have to laugh. However it's not stringing you along like PLL does. In Riverdale it starts off with a murder and by the end of the first season they catch who did it. No 5 seasons of guessing who A is only to find out there's someone else  :p

Riverdale is an adaptation of the Archie Comics, I am absolutely in love with those comics and have read them for years (yes I am a book worm and my mum's American friend gave me all of hers) so it was actually exciting to know they were creating a show based on the characters of that comic.

    OKAY AND OFF TOPIC AGAIN:

I am 100% annoyed at the moment, I am going to do a Family Guy number and state what really grinds my gears! Okay so in light of all that has happened I drove to Chorlton upon Medlock (an area in Manchester) because although it's painful and I am somewhat anxious I want to at least help in anyway that I can, you know, be it donating money or some of the stuff i don't use? So much stuff has occurred plus my family is in Chorlton upon Medlock so I decided to travel to stay with them for a few days, well I was searching the internet and I came across the whole Kim Kardashian backlash, I think to myself, "great what did she supposedly do now?" I click on it out of curiosity and I see these people saying such vile and hateful things to her calling her a narcissist and stating she's making the situation about herself when no shape of form was she, she simply posted a photo of her, her sister, and Ariana Grande (like any other celebrity i've came across on twitter and instagram have done) of them having a great time of course I can honestly understand why she did it, to show Ariana that although this has happened it'll get better she tried to show her the bright side to things and to remind her of the positive things not the negative (yes this is a sad and negative situation) since after all she is blaming herself and does think it is her fault when it isn't. Anyway I saw her getting so many harassing messages i literally almost puked up the pizza I ate earlier, I am flabbergasted and so amazed at how utterly stupid and ridiculous people are being over one freaking photo! 22 people just died in my country most of them being kids still and you all are complaining over a measly photo!? She gave her condolences just like every other celebrity did and they literally ripped her to shreds over it, she didn't mean any harm about it plus I am sure many people in Manchester as well as England/UK in general understand that she meant well. I am so livid at the ignorance that was displayed today the last thing my people need are a bunch of whiny people complaining about absolutely nothing because they're jealous and bored with their own existence. If you are gonna be supportive then be supportive instead of spewing out your negativity and ignorance, this isn't about her so i'm not sure why they're trying to deflect their negative vibes onto her posting a harmless photo. I logged out of my social media for the remainder of the morning because I just cannot stomach the idiots that claim they care yet I've yet to see any of them post or share their condolences at least Kim did!

    and my rant is over!

HA! 90's girl here. It's definitely geared toward teens but I find guilty pleasures lol

Carol I hope you feel better :( I live in the midwest which is the epitome of unpredictable weather so I feel your pain. I always get sick around springtime.

astray I saw the KK backlash and was angry too. Honestly I took her picture as showing support for Ariana. She already expressed her condolences to the victims and I felt this was more of a personal message from one friend to another because you know AG is feeling awful right about now. People had no reason to react the way they did other than hating Kim for who she is.

yeah it just irritates me so much how stupid people can be at times and 120 people have been reportedly injured in Manchester now. Also was confirmed that half of the 13 people that went missing are amongst the dead.

Thanks soundspretty & astray. I'm feeling a whole lot better than before. It's the natural lime juice that's helped me☺.

I read on Facebook that Ariana Grande offered to pay the funeral expenses for the victim's families of the Manchester bombing. That's such a generous thing for her to do.
