KK:H Weekday Event - 1/21/18 Throwback Event Kicks Off the Week

Hi Kourt.  Glad to see you so happy about the new event.  But um,  where's Kim?
Oooooooh,  busy with our Glu Goddess Kalinda, probably planning our future fun,
or just enjoying a little Sunday Brunch!

Don't you just love Mondays? A new week a new TB Event.
& all the while, our French Glamor SYS continues into the home stretch.

A lot of American Dolls will be observing Martine Luther King Day with a day off from work,  at a time when the whole world remembers the legacy of a great man who was tragically cut down before his dream could become reality.


So whether you're working, on break or back at school, we have a fun filled week ahead of us.
There's just one more thing we need, before we can kick off this thread for tomorrow's event...

When it’s done we’ll send it in on the Roomba, and see if that excites you Dolls a little more.  No?
Then at least send in the puppies to rescue me.  I’m dying over here.  I’ll have to sing next, and load it as a File, but no one wants that.

So I was looking for an old post of mine....

And stumbled across a throwback kollection of mine from early November. Hm, familiar?

Oh yeah, here’s my kollection from last week. 5 of the same items, and the only reason it isn’t all 7 is because I already won the other 2...

I’m soooo tired of working toward the same 15-20 or so shoes and accessories in a different rotation every week. I get something every week and my palettes still manage to look almost the same nonetheless. I’ve still never even once seen a single clothing item (top, bottom, or dress) aside from the bundle since throwback kollections started in September... Glu can bring back throwback boxes any day now!!!

I’m really confused about the throwback kollections vs boxes; I assumed they were the same with the kollection just showing you upfront what the 8 items are whereas a gift boxes 8 items are hidden. Is that wrong? Are kollections the rubbish stuff?

@Ohemilie many of us have noticed the kollections tend to be patterns of the same items week after week. A lot of us (me included) have seen a LOT more variety with boxes over kollections. Many say kollections are mostly “seasonal accessories” (at least for players who don’t have many throwback items) and lots of players have similar items, where boxes seem to always look different. Plus with boxes, if you were to open another box later, you would have a totally different palette! So, more selection.

BUT, some players have had better luck with kollections. Especially with hairstyles I’ve noticed, they seem to lack in boxes and more people are getting them in kollections!! And of course you get to see what you’re spending money on instead of blindly picking. And it starts out cheaper. Kollections start at 40 and rise each time, boxes are always 60 no matter what. 

Its all just personal preference and experience on what is “better” but yes there are differences!

Ooh thank you for explaining! I tend to get pretty rubbish boxes and kollections so it doesn’t bother me which I end up with as it’s akaays horrible shoes or an air hostess neck scarf

I don’t understand why Glu insists on having kollections every week, I doubt that they make more money than boxes did

It would be nice to alternate between tb boxes and kollections, since some players actually enjoy boxes. They should also get what they want

To me it doesn't make sense. If they want us to spend, why do they put mostly undesirable items into the tb kollections?

Is it best to think that all weekday events are professional ones and if so how many reality shows do u think u have to do to complete it

@PicThisTia yes, unless Kalinda tells us otherwise it’s a professional event. And I think I’ve done the math before and it’s 37.5?? So, 38 to finish if you just do 3 hour reality shows

Honestly this is better than usual as far as throwback kollections go for me I guess lol. Only shoes and accessories of course, but still.
I really want those shoes on the bottom!!! They’re the only item here i’ve never seen before in a palette of mine & they’re super cute.

My first black box palette was literally SO good but I picked energy

Tbh I’m a little fed up of TB Kollections I wouldn’t mind if they changed up every week but for the last few weeks mine have had the same items give or take! It’s made me unmotivated to tap!

omg.  I had to laugh.  I had 2 tickets left over from the 1st trendsetters.  Last time, I was easily #1, no one was even trying, but those two tickets were driving me crazy.  I just used them.  Unnecessarily used them to get rid of them.  When you have either tickets or a prize available, there is a check mark on the game screen.  that check mark drove me crazy.  Obviously if I wasted them, but boy,  don't you think I wish I'd held onto them   So, when I read you're looking forward to getting rid of your stars, I had to laugh.  

But yay on the VIP.     Has the predictive Bullhorn ever been wrong?

So happy for VIP weekend. It's never been wrong yet. I hope we get the two dresses from the promo pics - purple and iridescent white. Also, traditionally that will mean update next week, woo hoo! Can't wait to see if Glu stepped it up for Valentine's.
